OIE Ad Hoc Group on Camelidae Diseases

The OIE Biological Standards Commission (BSC)  has established an international ad hoc group to discuss bacterial, parasitic and viral disease of camelids including dromedary camels, bactrian camels and South American camelids.  The BSC recommended that the Group identify the priority diseases for each of the three categories of camelidae so that the relevant OIE Reference Laboratories can be contacted and asked for information on the disease in camelids and availability of diagnostic tests validated for camelids.

Pages 4-5 of the BSC meeting report includes an overview of the Meeting of the Ad Hoc Group on Camelidae Diseases which was held at the OIE headquarters in Paris, July 8-10, 2008.

Pages 17-31 of the BSC meeting report includes the full report of the Meeting of the Ad Hoc Group on Camelidae Diseases, with Appendix IV containing the list of Significant Diseases of Camelidae which was drawn up by the Ad Hoc Group.
